Text : Tomoko Nagao

On Saturday, August 4, Fumiko Ito, who works on supervision and design of various learning places including early childhood education, was invited to the garden to carry out Yamako staff training. The theme is “to explore” that the teacher experiences and understands himself.
In the first lecture, she studied design in the Netherlands, and later worked as an attritor at an early childhood education site in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Mr. Ito’s spins on the relationship between education and art, and the quest I had an idea. “Individual ideas are considered as national resources” in Dutch education sites, and in Reggio Emilia city, they are regarded as “being from 0-year-old children to working people (citizens), creating society and culture.” “.
From various stories, Yamanoko nursery school, from 0 years old to adults, every one has an idea, it becomes a resource and makes a society, such as “I think that I have a value, and my own I think that I believe that what I have is an important role in society, I want to aim at becoming a community.

In the subsequent workshops, on the theme of “water”, I experienced “hand thinking” using familiar materials from everyday life. Try to draw water, cut out the world of water with photos, write out words, and try to construct a world of water. About water, I explored from multiple angles using various materials such as plastic materials, natural materials, playground equipment such as blocks, paints and cloths.
Think while moving your hand as well as your head. Experience that childcare teachers send out their own expressions and ideas while flexibly responding to the feeling created by encounters with materials, communication with the self, others, and the environment on the spot, not with planned harmony. Did. I think the trajectories of everyone’s thoughts were documented on the wall, and I was able to learn about each other’s expressions, as well as collaborative learning among childcare teachers.
